Interior Pre-Listing Checklist

Living Areas

☐ Turn ceiling fans and televisions off.

☐ Replace any missing light bulbs in darker rooms.

☐ Adjust window coverings to highlight the correct views. Blinds/shutters should be angled consistently in each room.

☐ Minimize excessive furniture. Rooms photograph better when minimally staged.

☐ Remove piles of mail, newspapers and magazines and boxes.

☐ Hide pet items: beds, food and toys.

☐ Adjust pillows on couches and chairs (please don’t sit in them after doing this).

Kitchen

☐ Clear or minimize countertops.

☐ Remove photos, notes and papers from the refrigerator.

☐ Tuck all indoor trash cans out of view, preferably in the garage.

☐ Empty the sink and remove/hide any drying racks

Bedrooms

☐ Turn ceiling fans and televisions off.

☐ Make all beds and tidy each bedroom.

☐ Make sure all clothes are hung up, or put out of sight. Hampers, if small and neatly stashed, may be able to stay if part of the staging.

☐ Tuck all indoor trash cans out of view, preferably in the garage.

Bathrooms (we don’t like to touch bathroom items, so your diligence in these rooms is greatly appreciated!)

☐ Clear or minimize countertops.

☐ Hide any visible items in bathtubs or showers.

☐ Clear or minimize countertops in kitchen and bathroom areas.
